We get asked all the time if we believe in Scent Elimination Products and do they work? The answer is YES. They definitely help you out and give you that added advantage you need to fool a big bucks nose. But keep in mind that you have to use the entire system, which starts with washing your clothes in scent free detergent and storing them in a carbon storage bag. You must also wash yourself in scent free products and dress in the field using Scent Blocker Carbon Suits away from any vehicle odors, etc. This all takes effort but it might payoff big. I would rather use it than not because we have seen the results!

When it comes to knives for hunters, I believe Outdoor Edge has what it takes from A-Z. For butchering and caping my deer at home I use the OE Game Processor which gives you several different options on knives, styles and also comes with a sharpener. For in the field use on a deer hunt I have a new OE Flip’n Blaze/Saw combo. This system is small and folds up nicely in my pack or on my side. If I’m on a big game hunt such as elk or moose I use the Kody pack, which is a bigger knife and saw for cutting up and field dressing those larger animals.

Comments: There is anything and everything now days when it comes to video equipment. The following is what has worked best for us the past three years as technology keeps progressing. The Sony EX1 is true HD and is great in low light. The drawback is the lens magnification power, it is not a good choice if you are looking for a camera to film gun hunts. You can add a doubler if you choose to reach out with it a little further. This camera is built more for the bow hunter. Good audio is also important. Sennheiser shotgun and wireless mic systems will get you what you need. Tripod and tree arms are a must have! The best way to make your video great is to keep it steady so always keep it on a good foundation. Monfrotto makes a great fluid head that locks down and also balances well. I also add a 75 mm bowl assembly to the head and order the tripod with the same size bowl. I like the carbon fiber sticks for weight because of packing them in on a hunt. Treearms are a must have also! Good friend Skip Peterson manufactures the best one I’ve used that features machined design and a snug fit www.skipenterprises.com. The third arm is also a good choice that will give you a solid foundation when filming from the tree.
