Fish hits her square in the jaw,

Topples out of the boat back into the water,

Well, the rest is history!

Well they say it's all fun until somebody gets hurt, DOESNT IT LOOK LIKE IT HURTS?!  Now I'm sure everyone has seen bowfishing shows all over hunting networks, but this my friends is something you've NEVER seen before! Of course the DRIVEN CREW pulls out all the stops to make the most exciting show ever! We had the Driven Crew out on the Illinois River bowfishing with Chris Brackett (host of Arrow Affliction) and his fiance Jodi Barnes (pictured above).  It looks like Jodi has definetly seen better days on the river, she has been fishing with Brackett for the past 3 years and nothing more than a few bumps and bruises has came her way.  Then you throw the Driven Team into the mixture and look what happens.  As you can see from above, a giant fish flew up and hit Jodi square in the jaw.  Jodi is a very tough cookie but this blow knocked her down, so we knew she was hurt.  Chris took her to the hospital and 5 hours later we found out that she had broken her jaw and was going to be wired shut for 6 weeks! All I can say is, Flying Carp you better watch out because when she gets back on her feet, SHES OUT FOR REVENGE!

This trip was second to none! We had team members Chad and Jen Nolte, Shane Indrebo, Jeremy, Bill Konway, Chris & Jodi and good friend Darren Martin out on the river with us! What a blast we had.

After Jodi was sent on her way, we came to find that only 2 miles down the river there was a suicide jumper that was going ot jump off the bridge.  OMG, okay seriously what in the world is going to happen next?! Here come the fire trucks, the fire boats and whos first to the scene but US!  Chris actually pulled another guy out of the river last year after jumping as well and the firefighters remembered him when they pulled up to us!  What in the world is going on here in this crazy state of Illinois?!  After that Chris decideds to throw me in the NASTY, YUCKY, MUDDY, CARP SMELLING Water of the IL River, YUCK! I had no choice but to go in...
Excitment stop, no way, just before we were getting ready to leave we had Jen and Chad in the shooter seats in one boat and Pat and Bill Konway in the shooter seats in the 2nd boat, now remember there are gobbs of fish jumping out of the water at the same time and what do they do? Jen and Pat shoot at the same fish out of 2 different boats and they both arrow it!  First time ever happening out there!  Way to go guys!

Ok so it was kind of a little competitive out there,  but not really fair! It was just Jen and Nicole after Jodi got hurt and went to the hospital.  Nicole and Jen arrowed 2 Carp a piece on Day 1 and both arrowed 2 a piece on Day 2, that's 4 total guys and gals and yes, not many people can even hit the suckers, so we were definetly a little proud of ourselves!  After the 2 days everyone was bumped, bruised, scraped, you name it and not but a day later Pat was back out on the water with my brothers and bunch of guys doing it all over again for my brother Zach's bachelor party! Unbelievable! We all woke up sore for the next 2 days after getting off the water!

Yep, that's me, dropping the slimy thing! Those suckers were hard to hold on too! Nice face, huh :)

A HUGE THANKS to Chris Brackett for taking us out on our first venture of Extreme Aerial Bowfishing! We will definetly be doing it again next year! Another big thanks to Bill Konway for riding with us and taking the hits to get some great shots, thanks a bunch Bill for taking pictures!!  If you are interested in going Aerial Bowfishing (trust me it won't be bad) head to http://www.brackettoutdoors.com/cbhome.htm
